This includes history studies, information on historical structures and preservation, museum management and collection plans, and historical studies done on areas outside the park. Materials related to the National Register of Historic Places, the List of Classified Structures, Hensley Settlement, and Section 106 Compliance are also included.
The dates of the materials range from 1906 to 1990 with the bulk from 1960 to 1990. The materials were authored by Cumberland Gap NHP staff and various state agencies.

Series 7: Job Corps Materials
A Job Corps Center was created by USFS at this park under the supervision of a superintendent which was later called the Job Corps Center director. The corpsmen built the Job Corps Center that is now the park headquarters building. The young men of the Job Corps did the rehabilitation work at the Hensley Settlement and in the neighboring communities. They also engaged in such activities as little league, Boys Club, equipment training, and education for the future. These materials were created from 1965 to 2002.

The records in this series pertain to the Cumberland Gap Tunnel project. This includes but is not limited to contracts, planning and development materials, proposals, conference notes, and the relocation of US 25E.
The materials date from 1956 to 1984 with the majority from 1973 to 1984 and were authored by the National Park Service, Federal Highway Administration, and various other state and local government agencies.
The majority of the materials related to the construction of the 25E tunnel and the restoration of the Gap are located in the Tunnel Record Collection (Accession CUGA-305/CUGA 4181).
