When creating presentations, we recommend using the image links below to avoid potential copyright problems. You should not simply search Google and reuse an image without checking access and image rights. Even when using Creative Commons, you must cite and credit the source. 

Access Medicine
Index of searchable images in Access Medicine. After clicking the link, enter your LMU username and password to access the resource. Images may be used in non-commercial presentations provided you credit the source. Run a search on your topic in the search box, then use the "images" limiter on the left hand side to restrict results to images only. 
American Society of Hematology Features a large number of blood and pathology related images. If you want to save an image, you will need to complete the free registration. Images may be freely used in non-commercial presentations.
AnatQuest
High resolution cyrosectional images of human anatomy; these images may be freely used in presentations.
Biology Image Library
Features images used in Biomed Central's publications. Requires free registration. Click on the "Library subjects" link on the left side of the page to browse by subject. Each image contains copyright information, but most can be used in non-commercial presentations.
Bloodline Image Atlas Features over 800 hematological images showing blood disorders and malignancies--searchable by category or keyword.
The Cell: An Image Library Features images, videos, and animations of cells. The database is freely accessible. Not all images are in the Public Domain or governed by Creative Commons. Click "Advanced" under the search button and one can limit by the license.
Embryo Images Online
Features electron micrographs to display early mammalian development. Line drawings are also included on select pages, and these may not be reproduced.
Flickr Searches images utilizing a Creative Commons license. Be sure to check what rights are assigned to the photo. You can generally use these in non-commercial presentations as long as you give credit.
Google Image Advanced Search
A powerful search engine for images. The last selection, usage rights, enables one to filter image by license.
Health Education Assets Library Contains over 21,000 medical images in fields such as: dermatology, neurology, and pathology. Each image gives rights restrictions, but most are Creative Commons and can be used in non-commercial presentations. Part of the Mountain West Digital Library.
History of Medicine Search for historical medical images. Ideal for presentations. Check the restrictions on each image, but most can be freely used.
National Cancer Institute Over 2,800 images from the National Cancer Institute. Most can be freely used in non-commercial presentations provided credit is given.
National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine Photos and images from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine; these may be used freely in non-commercial presentations as long as credit is given.
National Eye Institute Photos and images from the National Eye Institute; these can be used in presentations.
National Human Genome Research Institute Photos and images from the National Human Genome Research Institute; these can be used in presentations.
National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases Photos and images can be used freely in non-commercial presentations provided credit is given.
National Institute of General Medical Sciences Photos and images can be used freely in non-commercial presentations provided credit is given.
Public Health Image Library Photos, images, and multimedia files on a wide variety of health topics. Sponsored by the CDC.
Wellcome Images
Features medical, scientific, cultural and historical images. All images are freely available in low resolution; other than historical images, high-definition images require payment.
