Change in catalog links

The link to the old Piper Catalog has been removed from the top of the home page. Please use the new WorldCat Catalog to determine if the library has an item (book, video, etc.).

Please note that the new WorldCat Catalog (Beta) includes periodical articles; to restrict items found to books and/or other item type(s), after running the search check the box(es) to the left of “Book,” “eBook” (for electronic books), and/or other item type(s) which are located on the left side of the page within the search results.

The tools for the old Piper catalog have been removed from the middle, lower portion of the medical library homepage.

Other changes

Added links to the Athletic Training Resource Guide to the Librarian’s Corner webpage and to the newly created LibGuides section of the Athletic Training Program Resources webpage.

Added links to the Kinesiology Resource Guide to the Librarian’s Corner webpage and to the newly created LibGuides section of the Kinesiology Program Resources webpage.

Added a link to The Renal System to the urinary system subsections of the anatomy and physiology sections of the Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Medical Technology, Nursing, and Physician Assistant Program Resources Web pages as well as the urinary section of the physiology section of the Osteopathic Medicine Program Resources Web page.

Removed the link for Physiology of the Kidney since it is broken. Since the link is broken, deleted the link for Animated explanation of a dihybrid cross.

Removed link to Citation Help webpage on the left side of the page. Look for the Citation Help link to reappear soon.

The “Home” link has been temporarily removed from the top of the page to make room for the additional catalog link.

A search box has been added to the left side of the medical library homepage. It allows users to search by abbreviation, to search by definition (i.e. abbreviation definition), to search a medical dictionary, and to use one box to search associations either by name or abbreviation. Please ignore all ads found in the search results.

Added links to the VET 395 to the Librarian’s Corner webpage and a newly-created section for LibGuides within the Veterinary Technology Program Resources webpage.

All links in the two sections under the heading for “Quick Links” are now arranged alphabetically by name within each section.

McGraw-Hill’s plans for adding new books to AccessMedicine in early 2012 follow.
