The Center for IPE and Simulation serves as a central focal point for coordinating and integrating activities in interprofessional education.

IPEC’s mission is to ensure that new and current health professionals are proficient in the competencies essential for patient-centered, community- and population-oriented, interprofessional, collaborative practice.

The National Center is charged to provide the leadership, evidence and resources needed to guide the nation on interprofessional education and collaborative practice.

The Tennessee Interprofessional Practice and Education Consortium’s mission is to facilitate interprofessional, team-based approach to health among the state’s health and health profession educators, students, professionals/practitioners and agencies.

SSH seeks to improve performance and reduce errors in patient care through the use of simulation. Established in 2004 by professionals using simulation for education, testing, and research in health care, SSH membership includes physicians, nurses, allied health and paramedical personnel, researchers, educators and developers from around the globe. SSH fosters the improvement and application of simulation–based modalities such as human patient simulators, virtual reality, standardized patients and task trainers.

This report is inspired by a vision of interprofessional collaborative practice as key to the safe, high quality, accessible, patient-centered care desired by all. The intent was to build on each profession’s expected disciplinary competencies in defining competencies for interprofessional collaborative practice.
