WELCOME BACK!

LMU Duncan School of Law graduates may enter the building to use the law library by showing their current Tennessee Bar card to the front desk receptionist or the Security Guard on duty.

Additionally, law librarians are available to assist our graduates with legal research questions. Although the law librarians cannot actually conduct legal research for our graduates or their clients, we are available to assist in directing graduates to authoritative and cost-effective legal research sources (please see our contact information on the right).

WESTLAW AND LEXIS PATRON ACCESS

The law library provides access to WestlawNext and Lexis Advance from the computer terminal located on the third floor. Graduates can log in to the terminal from the desktop shortcut and access primary federal sources (statutes, regulations, and federal case law) and primary and secondary sources (forms, TN Practitioner’s Series, etc.) for Tennessee. Lexis Advance provides access to Shepard’s citation service.

Graduates cannot print from either service, but they can email documents or save research to a flash drive. The law library has also recently created a photocopy account for our graduates to use. The photocopier code will be available at the receptionist’s desk and graduates can sign in to “check-out” the code. Law library books circulate ONLY to current law students. If you need to borrow a book from our collection, please contact one of the librarians.

FORMS!

The library has recently added legal forms and Tennessee secondary sources to the computer on the third floor. The computer is not connected to a printer, but documents can be sent via email or saved to a flash drive. Follow the shortcuts on the computer’s desktop to access the following:
