Business Administration: Annotated Bibliographies and Literature Reviews

Research resources for business administration programs including accounting, finance, management, and marketing

Introduction

This section covers instructions and resources on how to create annotated bibliographies and literature reviews for business researchers.

The purpose of both annotated bibliographies and literature reviews is to help you:

  • Discover what has been said about your subject
  • Evaluate and compare what you find
  • Think about how you will use this information in your own paper
  • Look for things that still need to be said

Annotated Bibliography: This looks like a works cited page with additional information about the sources added after the citations. It will be easiest to start with the annotated bibliography in order to get you thinking about your sources and how you will use them in your own paper.

Literature Review: The literature review looks more like an essay with an introduction, body, and conclusion. You will use it to put together everything that you've thought about in the annotated bibliography in a more ordered, thoughtful way.
